Actually it was a quote from the Dr who seemed to have finally gotten is way and eliminated an offensive brand name. A name that seems not to be "offensive" to the people of the country in which that product is sold. Since, virtually all of them have never been called "coons" in all their history!

It isn't. It's the normal German name for the Roma and Sinti. They're collectively known as Zigeuner from the Greek "singanoi"  . All the Germanic countries use the same word. The Latin countries use another derivative: gitanos, citanos, zingari. The Slav countries use  cigani.  In the UK it's gypsy or Romani.
