Maybe that's because they don't trust the voting machines they've been sold.
Of course, if the British had advised them on elections, they'd have insisted it all be done on paper ballots with a grease pencil.
Then you employ 100s of counters and observers to make sure that everyone knows the count is honest.
Then you don't have riots.
