"BoJo is such an idiot!"
Perhaps not. There will be a public inquiry after covid and he's being very careful to do what NHS and Gov scientists tell him to do. There certainly have been changes of mind and policy, but it has always been because of new evidence and new recommendations from the various scientific committees. The latest, that we should go into a full lockdown, was immediately after the Chief Med Officers of the UK told him that the NHS was moving to alert level 5 and was likely to reach maximum emergency capacity in 21 days.
I know it's frustrating to send your children to school for one day and then be told all the schools are closing until the end of February, but there was no choice. If the Chief Med Officers had seen him a day earlier, no-one would have gone back to school.
As for being an idiot, he is one of the few who have both won a scholarship to Eton and also won a scholarship to Bailiol College, Oxford.

And Tony Abbot was a Rhodes Scholar.
But he was still a first class idiot.
There is a BIG gap between getting into a good school and wisdom.

They're hardly comparable.
These are the criteria for Rhodes scholars:
his literary and scholastic attainments
his fondness of and success in manly outdoor sports such as cricket, football and the like
his qualities of manhood, truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for the protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness, and fellowship
his exhibition during school days of moral force of character and of instincts to lead and to take an interest in his schoolmates for those latter attributes will be likely in after-life to guide him to esteem the performance of public duty as his highest aim

As to COVID it would appear that most countries follow most countries as nobody has a real clue what to do , each day here in Israel it changes each day a new tit bit gets added subtracted and or divided
Do this don’t do this , get that don’t get that , be here not there and so on , for mankind this is a new set of problems which like most in the past we will eventually pass , Johnson a fool he is not .

He deliberately messes up his hair before appearances in order to create an air of affable incompetence.
Then we underestimate his abilities, so that when he manages to accomplish something - we're far more impressed with his success than he deserves.
Perhaps he is not a fool, but the Brits are?
