Jenifer (Zarknorph) said:The US Defence Secretary confirms President Donald Trump gave the order to let a Navy SEAL convicted of battlefield misconduct remain in the elite force.
And this guy was only prosecuted (but barely convicted) because his fellows thought his sadism was so extreme!

I strongly suggest finding combat soldiers who have seen the battle field experienced war and its unspeakable terrors and then criticize the SEAL who's apparent crime was having himself photographed with a dead Taliban , his actions are out of line his actions however as a SEAL are beyond the call of duty .
Nobody can describe war or the effects that euphoric feeling of having survived , what happens when the otherside withdraws and you start to collect your wits is again something words have not yet been found to describe , Trump was correct even though the SEAL was wrong for his actions

He's barely even a soldier, more like a state-employed terrorist.
Can't imagine why any sane person or anyone in any regular army would praise him.

If it were just that, then fine.
But this guy is taking it further and openly insulting his superior officers. That's insubordination.
Some people are just dicks.

Is'nt the issue the photo ?
The other issues were created by allowing this tiny nonsense to get out of hand and then allow it to make it's way to the desk of the President .
On the issue of the photograph until you speak to people who have experienced the incredible terror of a battle then the euphoric heady sense of relief you are still here then who is here to judge him ?

The Navy will almost certainly spit him out.
The danger is the message that Trump is sending us all - war-crimes are good.
All preparation for Holocaust II as we're already engaged in.

His actions after that (while not as horrible) are bad.
He had T-Shirts made and slammed his superior officers on Twitter.

I hadn't heard about the case until it was raised here.
I would leave the judgement to people who know what it's like to be in combat.

I have fought several wars and a myriad battles (how glib is that) however I cannot no matter how I try find the words to express my fear at each event , I cannot describe the smell of war , I cannot find any form of sentence that explains the terror that combat creates in the mind and soul .
I do know that when that moment comes when for the day or the night the hour it stops that moment when there is a deafening silence and you are alive , your crew ,team are still with you there is a sense of euphoric madness that grips you and for that moment there is the absolute delight in knowing the otherside lost (it does not matter that they will come back for more or that it is never going to end etc)
I watch reruns of the Mike Tyson fights and he was single minded and brutal but the moment the other guy was floored and it was over Tyson moved to comfort him and assist him , there is that same sense that comes over you when you see the enemy who were trying with all their might to kill you they become human again in their pain
