In any case America does not have to get involved in those internal/external issues.  That's what the UN was ostensibly for.

Any US involvement is for their own strategic interests .

The UN was FDR's idea, he wanted to ban the kind of things that Hitler had been doing, chiefly over-running borders.

Truman had no such qualms - forced through the creation of Israel (blackmailing UN delegates) and proceeded to treat Korea worse than Hitler and Stalin had done in sequence.

The big question is, can the Late Night talk show hosts let Trump go?

It has been 3 years of comedy gold.
