Uses a bimetallic casing, like SIG. Designed to be suppressed most of the time. Otherwise is a fairly conventional Tri-Lug Long Stroke Gas Piston rifle. In the vein of the Robinson XCR.  7-9lbs, claimed 20% ammo weight savings vs an equivalent conventional brass cartridge.

So, what exactly they have re-invented so groundbreakingly - the Remington model 8, the Roth Krnka rifle, or the CSRG m1918 machine rifle?

I consider the project a failure, since it's not chambered in 8mm Lebel.

More seriously, there was an experiment in the 20s with Model 8s chambered in .30 Remington. Browning couldn't get it reliable enough, or powerful enough, for the US Army.
