Lindybiege has a few videos with a British volunteer that went to Ukraine. He claimed except for recon and some special operations, suppressors weren't very useful, since it's mostly 2 trench lines blasting at each other. I figured they would be useful for enhancing communications, but the Brit thought they weren't worth it.

Upgrades are not to make rifle cheaper or easyer to produce , i think they are talking updates derived from to battlefield experience, like 2rd burst is a useless complication for the average Ivan , forend with the cleaning kit inside is hard to remove in the field and diopter was much too fine for field use. The buttstock lacked the thick pad for grenade launcher use etc.

Dual aperture diopter with , larger  aperture.

New buttstock

Issues with buttstock cracking in the cold from firing under barrel grenade launcher.

Hi all,

I stumped on this photo on telegram:

I believe that it is either a plastic fake or a photoshop. A 7" quad cannot carry 2.2 kg and the warhead's centermass doesn't match with the quad's

My question is: is it possible to modify a PG-7VL grenade, disconnect somehow the rocket motor and maintain its capabilities?

In fact the 12M1 is a quite reasonable upgrade

the 2rd burst is redundant when your cyclic ROF is below 700 rpm

the new diopter is 3-position (200-400-600)

the new fixed flash hider/comp is designed so the suppressor can be mounted right onto it, without the need to detach anything

and, finally, the Kord-5.45 offers little in regard to combat effectiveness at the cost of bad ergos (its stock sucks), lack of any aftermarket support, and increased maintenance requirements

Looks fake ,  while some smaller race drones have something like 6:1 power-to-weight ratio is not fully available for forward flight , so even with those high preformance drones you are lookin at maybe 4-3:1 in forward flight .

I am somewhat surprised with folks going all in with quadcopters that are in many ways so inefficient, the power needed to sustain hover is many times more than what you would need for the winged drone hence winged drone could stay in the air much longer. I guess  DIJ being a turn-key product with simple controls and more packable outweighs everything else. But you can imagine how many drones are needed to keep one in the air at most times when the quadcopters can barely stay aloft 45min ,so take it as in praxis you get 30 minutes on station with some reserve  for cold weather and to make it back in the wind.

There have been a number of videos of drone dropped RPG warheads fitted with fins and and impact fuse, which seem quite effective.

But they are being dropped by much larger quad and octo copters.

Ukrainan ' Iron Dome'  hoping to intercept Gerans /Shaheds

Of course Shahid drone would literally need to fly within couple hundred meters for this setup to have even a minimal chance of shooting at it let alone hitting it after search light found the drone

Practicalities aside, as a flashlight nerd I dig the beamshot from that spotlight.

I wonder if it's LED, or HID?

Hmmm, thats interesting because some of the other AK-12's I've seen had the 'AR-stye' buffer tube stock, which I had thought was selected because of its strength.

Those do sound like reasonable upgrades.

With the flash hider, is it welded/rivitted to the barrel? Or just secured with a rockset/locktite like compound?

The advantage with being removable would seem to be the ability to use cheap/DIY suppressors, such as some of the 'solvent trap' types from Aliexpress, or the scratch built ones we've seen on AK74's in Ukraine.
