Probable reasons for using the 4x4 JLTV chassis:
- Operated entirely by remote control, it increases Marine battlefield survivability.
- CH53s should be able to hoist it and fly to austere positions where necessary.

It that is the main thing they might just as well stick to a trailer like many previous projects, island hopping with helicopter around pacific it hardly matters if the Tomahavk launcher is mobile or not.

It's much safer to just plop a 4x4 launcher down on a beach and have it drive itself to a firing position, since it saves the helicopter from having to figure out where that is.
Sure you can plop down a towed launcher, but then you need something to tow it with, which probably means a second helicopter drop.

That's basically what I thought - small and simple enough to be self propelled yet portable in some aircraft, be it CH-53 or whatever they choose

A vehicle which is small enough to be transported in a CH-53 seems likely to be too small to carry a Tomahawk missile.

It appears they do not want to be limited to placing a trailer into a fixed position on Pacific islands, but instead want a launch system with greater operational flexibility and tactical mobility.

Will be interesting to see how eyes wide shut the Israeli terror campaign will be taken as ''right to self defense'' in the west. Besides razing random civilian buildings,in tightly packed cities it seems they started an outright starvation campaign,
