Nice find, hadn't heard about that one.
AUG style cutlass handguard is a mistake. It works great on the AUG because theres a little ridge on the grip, plus the AUG uses a sliding style trigger.
On a pivoting trigger, it's too easy to end up with the middle finger wedged behind the trigger. This was my experience with the Tavor X95 cutlass grip.
The Mexican MG setup looks even worse as theres no border wall at all to keep the middle finger out from behind the trigger.

If the hand grip is the only mayor problem they will solve it .
All in all it looks like they applied a lot of HK tech from G36 which they manufacture under license to whole family of arms , question is can the polymer frame work with MG , its not that polymers can't handle the heat , some hadle more than aluminum , it more that they are not good at transferring heat, so soaking up and shedding that steels and aluminum is good at.
While line of 'new' arms
