but surely a mag fed gun is more effiencent because you can easily carry a 33-36 mag in your pocket, wheareas a belt must be put in the rucksack or something similar?

emeric, in your testing of differnet stuff, have you ever had much experience of small arms APFSDS, and how well they penetrated, in terms of potentially deafeating lvl 4?

6 mag chest rig or 2 3 mag belt pouches, 6x40= 240 + 1 mag in gun= 280 rounds total

4 100 round belts in carrying/mounting pouches + 100 round belt in gun =500 rounds total.

That's just for the MGer themselves; if other team members are carrying extra MG ammo probably a 100 round belt. Remember, a lot of the reason for an GPMG is sustained fire, even in the assault role. 8-12 bursts for a 40 round magazine, but 20-30 for a hundred round belt.

It takes longer to reload a belt-fed, but way few reloads.

It confuses me because it is so bleeping blatant. And It now also casts doubt on a lot of his other journalism

You must have unusually large pockets.  Below is a 30-rd mag; a 33-36 mag would be 1-2 inches taller.

FN FAL Bren Mag (30rd curved mag)

Curved mag for the FN FAL (metric), converted .308 Bren Mag. Yes it does work and yes, these mags are obtainable! Get yours now, follow the link below:https:...

Never had this opportunity.

I once wanted to launch a single flechette borrowed from a 68 mm rocket warhead out of a .408 Chey-Tac case, just to increase the hit probability at 2 miles for the "King of 2 Miles" competitions, but the BC of this steel arrow was so low is didn't worth the sweat...

what wouold your estimate be, for the specs required to deafeat lvl 4 with a small APFSDS

for example a 4mm dart with 1500lbs of energy. do you think it would have any chance?

I think you were right about declining WWSD sales prompting Karl's SVD vs WWSD video.

It seems there was a brouhaha on arfcom in which Karl ended up getting banned, and Brownell's (which reportedly owns arfcom) then decided to stop carrying the WWSD.
