This was a surprise, and follows US SF adopting 6.5C for their DMR's.
"Specifically, the Royal Marines have adopted an LMT AR-10-type rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor with HUXWRX suppressors and the Leupold Mk5 HD – a wonderful combo."

"A2 is also equipped with an improved accessory package for the new rifle and will include a HuxWrx Helix suppressor, Leupold MK5 HD rifle scope, and a Pixels on Target thermal sight".
Not a single pound of UK accessories, that's sad for Qioptics.

A country with round-tiped knives and manual repeater AR15 clones , what can you expect to be domestic? Scope mount

I think they have some decent suppressor makers? Though I mainly see references to Scandinavian and Swiss ones here in the States.

As you point out Gun Control , there is no domestic market to sustain a manufacturer of anything semi auto related, Even suppresors they make are only for bolt actions. Military contracting is to inferquent to sustain an manufacturing capacity. Altough considering how much they are buying and at what cost , they could like US military does demand LMT to have rifles built domestically in UK .

Probably could get the assembly done there. And certain AR parts are common industrial parts, so some of the pins and springs could be UK-sourced.

The most expensive part of the kit, the IR add-on that is sourced from the US company "Pixel on Target", and not from the UK company "Qioptics" (now Excelitas).

Ultimately we have to take into account LAW ENFORCEMENT INTERNATIONAL ltd. is probably earning enough not to bother
By the way LEI before it began selling LMT to UK mod ,were a suppresor manufacturer for LE / Mil ,hence kinda surprising that they or the military chose the wrong suppressor from Huxworx , Helix instead of Flow

Athough given combination of fucked up US laws around suppressors and costs of importing these to UK , they should have ditched US made suppresor as its probably the single most expensive item in the contract , rivaling cost of the optics and either made their own or bought it somewhere in Europe
