According to TFB's Matthew Moss, Vortex has won the NGSW-FC contract:
"The Army has awarded Sheltered Wings Inc. d/b/a Vortex Optics, based in Barneveld, WI, a 10-year firm fixed price, Follow-on Production Other Transaction Agreement (P-OTA) with a maximum ceiling value of $2.7 billion for production and delivery of up to 250,000 XM157 Next Generation Squad Weapons – Fire Control (NGSW-FC) systems over a 10-year period.
The NGSW-FC system is a ruggedized fire control that increases accuracy and lethality for the Close Combat Force. It integrates a number of advanced technologies, including a variable magnification optic, backup etched reticle, laser rangefinder, ballistic calculator, atmospheric sensor suite, compass, Intra-Soldier Wireless, visible and infrared aiming lasers, and a digital display overlay."
...
"The NGSW-FC will serve as the fire control for the Next Generation Squad Weapons – Rifle and Automatic Rifle. The NGSW-FC is the planned replacement for the Close Combat Optic, Rifle Combat Optic, and Machine Gun Optic within the Close Combat Force (Infantry, Cavalry Scouts and Combat Engineers)."
P.S. yes this is my first post, hello all, I've been reading this forum for a long time though

Great first post, welcome to the forum!

"Intra-Soldier Wireless, visible and infrared aiming lasers, and a digital display overlay."
Does somebody know if that digital display overlay can offer a perturbed aimpoint?
". It also features a compass and intra-soldier wireless connectivity (presumably alongside the IVAS kit which is in development). It also includes visible and infrared aiming lasers, and a digital display overlay."
Some of us assumed that a conservative FC such as vortex or L3 Harris were defined as a risk containment measure, given the high risk of the new ammo. Nevertheless, IVAS is suspended and can be rejected definitivelly.
I mean, without a full capable FCS that offers a perturbed aimpoint, the most important step will not be made for now

IVAS is not out, the FOV of the display was changed from an ambitious 80FOV to a a still excellent 70FOV (which is nearly twice that of comparable devices) + the addition of an anti-moisture coating to the goggles, it is now on track for deployment later this year, feedback from Project : Convergence 2021 (the wargames), was overwhelmingly positive other than the aforementioned technical issues.
And yes, both NGSW FCS have a disturbed reticle feature
9/1/22
Yes it has a disturbed reticle. Other soldiers In the squad can even designate and range something for you.

Yeah they ran into hard physics limits at 70 degrees in horizontal spread but in the newest revision (which is essentially a hololens 3) they pretty substantially increased the vertical FOV though which was already substantially better than envg-b.

SIG are selling commercial versions of their NGSW candidate.
This begs the question; is this because they won, or because they lost?

Just adding evidence that IVAS ain’t dead.

Firing a 80000 psi cartridge from a 13 inch barrel will doubtless be impressive.
