With drones for correcting fire who knows maybe it can hit a broad side of the barn. So it seems the 60mm mortar is not the smallest desired , maybe we need a proper 40mm as well.

As said design flaw with the fusing, as with most kamikaze drones users found in practice that you are not getting perfect impact every time so they have been adding secondary fuses and lidar fuses or in case of FPV servo manual command fuses

Looks like small batch of 100 Ak12 2023 model are going out for combat evaluation
Not quite certain they know what they want as it like 6th rear sight variation, 5th or so forend variant and 3 or 4th stock

Speed of delivery is a major selling point:

Ah, I see. It appears that you and I had a different idea of what "design flaw" meant.

It looks to me like they were not using 40mm because it was desired, but because 60mm ammo was not available.

Things are straightforward in regard to Korea
They are an industrial superpower living under the actual threat of war( not the imaginary like EU today), with actual hot manufacturing lines.

I can imagine that jerry rigged integration onto soviet fighters and demanding attack profile cut massively into ,effective use of JDAMs what were always meant to be used from high to medium heights where bomb corrections are relatively small and GPS recivers is staring directly into the sky
