I am new on this forum...I am writing on my sister's name who has polio for more than 50 years...she is 58yrs old now.

She is living abroad and will be here next month for a health assessment. Her doctor recommended a kind of prostheses or a knee replacement.
She is using arm crouches but her walking is more and more difficult.

Can you recommend me a good polio specialist around Oxford - UK?Or a clinic? Or how to start here in UK an assessment for a knee replacement?

Thanks for your time

Your best bet is to contact the Post-Polio Coffee House at It's a close group, so, if you need an Invite contact me at . Also, there is a curren directory of Docs, Groups and Clinics world-wide at Scroll to te bottom for the link. I you two haven't read it yet get Dr. Richard Bruno's book The Polio Paradox" at you library, used at or from his web site at .

See you soon at the coffee House!
