Texas Prisons Ban 10000 Books. No 'Charlie Brown Christmas' for ...

Not banned: “Mein Kampf” by Adolf Hitler and books by white nationalists, including David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard. Bear in mind that David Duke is also a legislator so it is not surprising his choice of books!

Good Morning Lyndy!

I was really kind of surprised that the prisons would allow books in that vein.  Although, I'm always preaching that there should be no banned books for anyone.  I guess I forgot about this segment of people.  I can  kind of understand why they wouldn't want Charlie Brown :-)

David Duke was my State Rep in Louisiana when I lived there in the early 1980's.  He was never in Texas politics that I can remember.

I remember very little of him at all ... just a few stories, maybe rumors

I agree with you!  Although, with prisoners, they probably wouldn't appreciate Charlie Brown and Snoopy like most of us.  I'm just pleased that they allow the prisoners to choose what they want to read .. I think.  :-)

No Charlie Brown? Snoopy is seditious? Linus smuggles drugs in his blanket? Schroeder has guns and lock picks hidden in his piano? Marcie is a radical feminist? Charlie Brown is a liberal?

Oy...there is no understanding Texas!
