How or why would the Bible change your life?  How does that affect you if you are Buddhist or Hindu or the whipping boy of the current era, Islam?

Not being negative, just curious.

I should have qualified that question.....

Has any book ever make a change in your life, other than a religious book.

I was thinking along the lines of a self-help book .... a diet book .... a new hobby... etc.

Strange assumption that the Bible has changed a significant number of people´s lives.

Some are hard wired with it since birth, therefore its effect is not a change.

I was raised with the Bible, went through private religious schools through high school, and

can´´t think of any instance where the Bible has changed my life.

However, to name some books outside the Bible is too difficult, since one´s life, including mine,

is a collective resonse to many books, including Adam Smith, Marx, Freud, regious texts of

other religions and any number of fiction books by authors whose aim is not just to sell a story.

Whether one is raised in a family with a Bible, or not, many who claim to have changed because

of the Bible, simply rediscovered it while in the process of change anyway.

I haven't forgotten you or your book ... I'm still playing catch up with my other commitments.  :-)

Not surprising that a book on writing changed your views ...

Strange assumption that the Bible has changed a significant number of people´s lives.

I don't think it's a strange assumption at all.  I know a lot of people who have said whatever religious book they have read has made an important impact on their lives.  Granted ...I haven't talked to every single person on the planet, but I think there are a large number who would say the Bible changed their lives ... as well as many who wouldn't.

Even if you could ask every single person, and counted those who said that the Bible has changed their lives, the

numbers or precentages would not mean inything. People taking polls often say things that has nothing to do with reality.

Just analyze some the things that self identified Christians do and sabe and you will find that their actions, attitudes,

and feelings have nothing to do with a literal Reading of the Bible, much of which is figurative anyway.

The expression "Bible has changed my life" is often merely an unrelated figure of speech.
