I've read 7 of them, including the entire Harry Potter series. *lol* My kids got me hooked on them.

I really don't understand why anyone would feel the need to lie about what books they have or haven't read it's silly.

Are you planning on reading any of the ones you haven't read? (skip the fifty shades books they don't even make good erotic fluff)

I probably wouldn't admit to 5o shades if I had read it ... but there are way too many books out to read. Not going to waste my time on something like 50 shades

I don't know why anyone would be embarrassed to read any of the others.

Well, I'm average! I've read 9 of them: Alice, 1984, LotR, TKAM, P&P, Harry Potter series, Oliver Twist, And Then There Were None, and Catcher in the Rye.  I liked all of them except the last, which bored me to tears.  Two of them were assigned books, the rest I chose to read.  I read Ten Little Indians (the play) first because it was our school play when I was a junior - I made the little figurine props that were supposed to fall off the mantel with each new death. I've read some of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, not all of them, and I read Anne Frank's Tales from the House Behind, not her diary.

Why in the world would someone lie about reading 50 Shades?  (unless, it's to pretend that you have NOT read it  LOL)

Odd that 4 of the 20 are by Charles Dickens....

Was it that they were embarrassed to admit having read them or that they lied saying they had when they didn't?

50 shades was a joke the whole way around...

I am and was a resister to the cant of "books you MUST read" to be educated.  As a result, I have read ONE Russian authored book, ONE full book by Dickens and none of the Ladies of New England.  I have read a lot of the books listed but on MY terms and timing.

Ok guess I'm not average at 6 out of 10--why anyone would waste time reading 50 Shades when there are so many other books out there I do not know--and am I the only one to notice that, including Anne Frank, only four of these books are by women?  I read Gatsby and Mockingbird and Anne Frank for school, the Rings trilogy in college, and Alice as a child although it should be re-read as an adult.

In my opinion, anyone who can get through War and Peace deserves a medal.

I really don't understand why anyone would lie about reading any of these unless it were to not admit to Fifty Shades.
