I read "The Hunger" a few months ago. I never really knew that much about the Donner Party so I learned a little around the fiction. The author appears to have worked hard to fit the story around the reported events.
I remember reading a book about the Donner party years ago. The thought of eating your family gave me nightmares. That's one story I've never forgotten.
I read a book on the Donner party too. It as hard reading in spots.
