From hard-hitting debuts and gritty mysteries to a cosy caper and a swashbuckling maritime puzzle

Whether because crime fiction is familiar or because its narratives usually contain a resolution, it has proved to be more popular than ever in 2020.

I need some new authors to follow. I've been reading series since Covid started and once I'm done with author there are no more to read.

Thank you. I've read Karen Rose and just found Freeman. I will check the others. The libraries "cleaaned" unused books so it's very difficult to find whole series anymore.  Or that is their excuse. I think a lot of older books end up in repair, then I forget to check back later to see if they are in the shelves again.

I've read all the Slaughter books I'm interested in.  They can be difficult...

I only recently found Freeman. Have you read any Steve Martini?

I've read Martini ... mostly his earlier books.  I'm probably 5 or 6 books behind in his series  :-)  I think the last one in the series was published in 2018 (?)
