April 15th is the 106 anniversary of the day the Titanic sank.

My great grandfather was one of the nonsurvivers.

Sorry to hear that.  Do you know anything about him, and was he traveling with family/friends?  Did you see the movie?

Sorry to hear that about your great grandfather.

I was surprised to hear that many of today's cruise ships are much bigger than Titanic ever was!

One thing I learned while researching to review the movie was that the fourth smokestack on the ship was a dummy that didn't even work, but was built so that the TITANIC was the first and only ship with four smokestacks.

I'm sorry about your great-grandfather. But also: How interesting.

Why was he was on there? Were other family members aboard, but survived?

My goodness, Tracy, that's too bad about your great-grandfather. Were others in your family survivors and were there family stories? That's some history.

Yes and yes.  He had gone back to England to visit his sister and was traveling back home to N.Y. with his friend who was going to help him with his business who didn't survive either.

He was the only family member and was travelling with his friend.

Interesting! Horrible, obviously but interesting to have a connection to such a well known event.

Guess who has the lead in Spider Lake...
