Our Moms had some good advice.  What is some good advice your Mom gave you?

I can't tell you how many times I've thought of that over the years.

If your girlfriend says she's pregnant tell her you had mumps when you were a baby and you are sterile !

the quiet ones (guys)  are the ones to watch out for.

my mother was a very pessimistic person...with mostly negative thoughts &  feelings.   we were not very close at all.  I don't remember her ever laughing but maybe once or twice. no cutting up. She saw to it that we were fed good and dressed nice, but I don't think she ever really had any fun.

I was close to my daddy, I helped him paint signs. and hung out at the beer joints when he would let me go...from the time I was six.  and it's funny ..even to this day at 74 I still have never drank...Didn't smoke until I was 21 (and my son was a year old)..I quit tho in 1997.

I am so glad you quit smoking, both of my parents were alcoholics and smoked liked chimneys, they were Chain Smokers! It finally killed both of them and it was a horrible death for them and us but like they say " You can't fix Stupid" !

Gonbad....I was going thru 3 packs a day...probaby smoked 2 packs tho'..I was parts manager for the Chevy dealership in town, and all the mechanics smoked and the service manager too...but I was smoking before I worked there.   I quit cold turkey on Valentines Day 1997.   and never once have I taken a drag when I laid them down.   i also quit the coffee the same day  (they just went together)...haven't had so much as a sip of coffee since that day either.

I wanted to gain weight ...that is why I quit.   I did ...I gained 22 pounds, but it took me 8 years to gain it.   and then it was a constant battle to hang onto the weight I gained.   but with this new meds I am taking and then the Dr put me on methylprednosone yesterday  I am up to 134...I need to quit now.   I always wanted to weigh 130...It is my magic number.   hahahaha

You make your bed, you have to lay in it!
You are known by the company you keep!
A whistling girl & a cackling hen never come to very good end!
Sing before breakfast, you will cry before supper!
Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy & wise!
