I can relate. I have been sleeping only about 5 hours a night lately. I am not really sure why but this article is about that....

I don't know if I 'lack' sleep but I do wake up several times each night.

And I have very dramatic dreams.  ;-)

Not now, but when I first heard about the coronavirus I was so scared I couldn't sleep, and I have never had problems with not sleeping.  I was lucky if I could get 4 hours of sleep. Then afer Ohio's Governor started doing daily reports  about the virus I was able to relax again. He told the truth not lies. Now I'm back sleeping 8 hours again.

For me it was more that my routine was interrupted and I was just feeling numb to everything happening around me that I was kind of sleeping any time day or night, and it took a few months for me to sort of reestablish a routine. Even now, I don't always do that great with sticking to a sleep schedule, but it's better than it was.

I am usually in bed before 8:30 each night....but we had a late supper this evening, and I will be going in about 5 min.   I sleep until  about 7:00 in the A.M.   I am up usually about 2 times a night #1 for me because of the darn diuretic pill in my blood pressure meds.   the other time is because the dogs need to go out.   I can't and don't take naps at all during the day...if I take a nap in the daytime it is because I am sick as a dog...and you won't see me until the next day.

I got used to taking a nap when I was taking care of my grandchildren. It was good for me as them cause we both got some sleep. I just saw were you said if you were sick   you wouldn't be up til the next day. Even when I sick I still get up shower, get dressed have a light breakfast cause I live a lone and have to take care of myself.

I've read that as you get older you need a little less sleep.  Personally, I like to get about 9 hrs.  Does that happen? Not very often.  Usually, because I"m a night owl, I get about 5-1/2 to 6 hrs.

I'm a older person and I need 7.5 to 8 hours a night. If I don't get that I'm tired all the next day and then tend to sleep a lot during the day to make it up.

I did not have trouble sleeping when I was working.

Many years ago I lost my job and my husband died in the same week.

Not being able to sleep all night has been a thing of the past ever since.
