Is anyone out there familiar with that massive Simon Of Space novel? I've read talk of turning it into a full-fledged movie. But it seems too long and diffuse to me for that to be done effectively. Anybody else have thoughts/feedback on how such might be done?

Welcome to Satin's Bootle and Delphi Forums!

Sad to say, I've been out of touch with the online Sci Fi communities.  I'd never heard of this novel, so I googled.  It was educational to see that a novel originally published as series blog posts is going into further publication:

The Wikipedia article is a "stub", and doesn't mention any prospect of a movie.  Perhaps it needs updating - by someone who knows more about this than me.

The two creatures that can live indefinitely with their heads removed are chickens and elected officials. By this, it can be proven that chickens are politicians. The corollary is that politicians are turkeys.

Actually, what I had in mind were the technical problems of converting such a sprawling opus into a dinky little feature-movie script. I believe it runs about 155,000 words!

Here are links to some places it's posted for reading, I think:

If you can't find enough of the text on the two other links I mentioned, then you might want to try this one: . Scroll about half-way down the page. On the right side locate a heading that says: All Chapters By Date. Under that you'll find links to all 40-odd of the SOS chapters. So you should be able to read the entire thing without any problem
