Welcome to Drones!
I couldn't resist creating this forum, because drones are so much in the news these days, and I think public interest in them (both good and bad) as well as the technology will continue to grow.
However, I don't really want to run a forum like this - I'd rather turn it over to a drone enthusiast, someone who has expertise in the area, contacts to make it popular, and the desire to create a popular forum.
Interested?

re: creating the forum
Dang, you beat me to it.
I'm getting mixed information on drone designations. Is it the MQ-x versions that are armed and RQ-x that are strictly recon? Of topic is the one downed recently. It was reported s an "MQ-5B" but not "Hunter".

Wanna stick around and help run the place? It's a new forum, and there's lots of room.
I don't know the answer to your specific question about the MQ-x and RQ-x programs, beyond the fact that the MQ-x program was cancelled in 2012.
Looks like the army is saying it was not a MQ-5B that was shot down over Crimea? I'm sure there's more to the story we haven't seen yet.

Are they using chocolate drones yet? If so, I bet Shorty will be willing to take it over for you, lol. She needs a new forum .

If you are seriously interested in handing off the forum, I was going to start one anyway. I don't think there is enough interest to start two of them.

Take good care of it, and make it grow!
Let me know if you want help with promoting it or anything.

Drones has gotten the "new forum boost", and is now the 4th forum on the Science & Space page. Keep the momentum going!
Don't forget to invite your friends.

Would you like for me to run promos to this forum? It's really one of the best ways to get new participants.
