All Kent County, Maryland. All the time. A discussion of everything about our slice of paradise.
I was on duty at Eastern Neck on Memorial Day. I was pretty sure we'd have a nice crowd as we usually do... weather permitting. I was kind of apprehensive about what the terrain would look like as we had a horrific wind storm at KP and along Coopers Lane on Sunday evening. Luckily we didn't have any tree damage, but many of the neighbors did. The amazing thing... the Lapps lost about 9 or 10 trees that line Coopers Lane and their driveway. In any case, all was well at the Refuge.
Then the crowds came. Folks from Vietnam, England, Chicago, Rock Hall, etc. All enjoying the lovely weather. The eagles performed as scheduled. The song birds sang. And at about 4:00 two fox kits played on the Overlook path at the lodge for about twenty minutes... oblivious to the audience that they had attracted. Seemingly... mommy called and they disappeared into the woods.
It was nice hearing how much the visitors enjoyed our slice of paradise.
