Where in the Hell are the courts on this? Why doesn't someone move to take away their tax-exempt status?

I know, I know...but this infuriates me! If I were in one of the churches and that was read to me I would be enraged and the whole congregation would know it on the spot!

Because what he did, while it seems like clear intimidation to us, isn't strictly illegal. Besides... I don't think the U.S. government is too anxious to start prosecuting the Catholic church.

You're right, it's not illegal. But it is against the separation of church and state...the basis of why churches aren't taxed. So let's tax them. Works for me!

Prosecuting the Catholic Church--why not?
Child molesting
racketeering
fraud
misuse of funds (IRS)
unlawful use of tax exemption

and probably a lot more.

The government doesn't tend to do well when they go up against organized religion. People get very emotional when religion is involved.

I know, but in my opinion, the catholic church has caused more misery than any economic system.  It has been doing this for 1600 years.  Maybe it is time.
