you know how bad the nor dan /br nick is for the derby, look at something royal and natalma
they are not compatible in the belmont . if hofburg wins he will be the first for this angle.

I have Lexington with four. Tapit is in good company with Man O' War but given the eras, Tapit's feat is pretty impressive with nothing but good mares waiting in line.
6/8/18
lexington with 4 , lexington/ leamington were quite a ,pair i think virgil and hindoo caught lexingtons daughters
all good lines.
look at how many tapits are out there in the next 2 crops. lots of P/N i'm sure.
somebody will get a jump start on that angle with deep pockets and the percentage of culls
will go up if they are buying off of 1 furlong works. i'll look for some homebreds.

i edited message 90 gallant man won the belmont not the derby.
those linebreeding charts for females are dups angle in a 8 generation chart
thats puts their progeny 7th generation or closer.

fivestaryak said:Hofburg and Noble Indy's nick has one winner in Rags To Riches. I separate API out from BR but I guess the BR/ND will do with SC thrown in.
I view lines different when it is fillies or colts. Much different mixing going on there. I count that as zero. But that is part of what kept me off Nyquist for KD
6/8/18
I counted 12 lines of 1-x in Hofburg's 9-gen pedigree. Of Derby runners Magnum Moon was next with 9, followed by Justify, My Boy Jack, and Promises Fulfilled with 7.

I weigh fillies differently as well, but I didn't want to take any numbers off the board for AP Indy as a sire or even that of his boys. API had 24 of his enter the TC gates and came away with a filly in the Belmont and Bernardini in the Preakness (some believe that had Barbaro not been done early and had Jazil and Bluegrass Cat not skipped the Preakness, API could have sired a shutout. His 9 runners in the Classic...still no joy. He and his line are up to 37 runners in the Classic with a record of 15-0-3-6-1.
API's line boys as sires are helping out his TC stats.
I liked the last three KD winners but not to key on top...nothing built or trained to run them down anymore.

Far, far worse......Apollo was a curse waiting to be broken, while the non-winner of the Preakness just makes more solid sense..
