Yes, then she died.  Barely 2 years old.  In a 6F race.    They call it a *cardiac event*.  

I am always curious to see the necropsy  reports to see what the heart defect was.  

I would also love to see a comparison of other racing jurisdictions who have cardiac events in such young horses (compared to the U.S.)

She wasn't 2, she was 3, foaled March 14, 2016.  Looking at her PP's, she belonged in this race, nothing in there suggests she was hopelessly overmatched, other than she was coming off a long layoff (last start was 6 months ago), but her workouts suggested she was ready.

Just breaking out of the gates puts a lot of stress on horses from what I understand.  Usually though, there is some kind of heart defect to begin with that they find during the necropsy.
