Vanderbilt -- Mitole looks like the lock.....but then .....hmmm.....heavy favorite....Saratoga.....late July...

Looking at the PP --I discovered Gallardo at Tampa Bay isn't the greatest jock in sprints with heavy faves.  I digress......   Not gonna mess with this one on the front end.  Yes there is money to be made......and money to be lost.  Just doing a <Million dollar Show bet> on #7 Do Share and Luis Saez -- Hope he brings some Tom Fool magic at a price.   For the win....I'll take Imperial Hint by a head over Mitole.

Bowling Green -- Arklow at a price-- Goes from 2M to a 1 3/8......with a chance of rain.  I'll take the 10-1.  The horse has had some bad luck.  This is the year.   The horse I'll be watching....Sadlers Joy --8 month layoff.

Jim Dandy -- Taking Tax --- I think the time off will be perfect.  Just a hunch play....and a quality ride with Ortiz and a decent price brings home a pile of cash.

Bing Crosby -- probably a 3-hour wait and 3-4 beers later.....  I'll take #8 Jalens Journey with Mike Smith.  If he gets to the Homestretch in the lead -- game over.  6/1 morning line.

And that will be my day --- Since my pockets will be bulging, I'll probably have to get an escort to the parking lot.  :)

Z........Taking a stand against Mitole in the Vandy, taking Strike Power w/Johnny V up.

Bowling Green, Again going w/Johnny V on Olympico @10-1.

Jim Dandy, Were in agreement with Tax, possible wire run. and i think you're right about Jalen's Journey in the Bing Cherry. Can't bet that race in NY State...too late of a race.

Good luck Z w/your picks!

Just watched the Vanderbilt. I always had a lot of love for little Imperial Hint. He was awesome today! 1:07 and change! No other dirt race ran in particularly fast time. The numbers should be huge.

I agree Imperial Hint had "pick me" all over the DRF PP's.  Sometimes in horse racing, good things happen in the time waiting for the race to begin or something just JUMPS out from the page that gives you a good feeling.  In this case, it was his 34-sec workout in june 15  That's fast and horses that aren't in shape don't generally duplicate that kind of workout and then poof ------june 29 he did it again.  Some handicappers frown at super-fast workouts -- I love em.  Watched too many horses at Turf Paradise run crap races after crap races and then pop a 33 sec bullet workout and go off at 5-1 and win for fun.   Then we had the Skip-Away track angle -- Skip Away was a horse that never won at Churchill Downs.  Yep -- Imperial Hint ran a  crummy 6th place and a BC-sprint 3rd as the favorite.    Next was Gallardo at Tampa Bay jockey debacle.  This kid wins a lot of races at the smaller tracks and wins with a lot of so-so horse but put him in a big-time race with a quality horse ---dudsville.  Imperial Hint always wins off lay-offs Gallardo comes in 3rd.  Finally, he had the reunited with your best friend horse angle -- Castellano hadn't been on this horse since his Breeders Cup Sprint ride.   Finally, we have 5-1 on the tote board ---- and then we have "there really is a GOD angle" and open betting window with 1 minute to go.  I dashed to the window and I get blocked by another better......but GOD shines on me again.  This better has a quick bet and is in and out in seconds.  $20 to win on #3?  What track please ----?   Oh Saratoga!  Just made it.... an easy $136 buckeroos.

Congrats! With Roy H out of the picture, Imperial Hint may have his best shot at a BC win.

We got the Clement Hirsh at Delmar --- Taking #3 Secret Spice - Can't make it to the betting windows so if I lose --- no diet Coke with dinner.  Secret Spice passes Just a Smidge going into the stretch and withstands a late charge with La Force --- our Fave Paradise Woods clocks in a close 3rd (she just never gets goin after a layoff).

The Sprint is shaping up to be a great race. Shancelot was flying today in the Amsterdam. 43 and change at the half and still won by open lengths!

Shancelot received a mind boggling 121 beyer for his Amsterdam win. Is it possible that his owners or trainer(Jorge Navarro) gets a case of Mid-Summer Derby fever? It would be asking quite a bit for him to stretch out to 10f. Three year old of the year, or even horse of the year is not locked down by any means. He has shown no inclination to rate even a little bit, thus far. I think it would be a bad idea, but I've seen connections get really aggressive when they think they have a special horse, rather than err on the side of caution.

The BC Sprint was my fave race for many years - Lit De Justice, Artax, The Factor, Mens Exclusive, Big Jag, Kona Gold......oh my getting excited making the list.

The horse who holds the record -- Quality Road - Aug3. 2009 -- I can't remember the race.  Any thoughts?

Pedigree wise -- Shanghai Bobby doesn't scream 1 1/4.   However, a beyer of 121 gets ur heart going.
