Well Eight Rings and Gold Street are not going to be in this. Short field (for Oaklawn) of only 8 horses. Surprised because this is a $1 million race. My bet is that it will be raining Friday night and into sat......it's looking very overcast here like it wants to rain but nothing hard coming down yet.
Like usual I will bet against the favorite (Nadal). Liking Basin here in a minor upset at 7-2.
Really surprised that Eight Rings and Gold Street aren’t entered.A lot will depend on how much rain will fall.Hoping No Parole and Nadal get in a pace duel and Silver Prospector passes them both late
80% rain @ Oak, i got Technique, Basin, Prospector in that order (mud speed figs).
I was being treated like a dumb az for telling everyone I would not attend the Rebel Stakes because I am social distancing (all my other op buddies were going to go). Now it appears there will be no spectators.

Oaklawn will race without fans in the stands through at least Sunday.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Oaklawn Park will not allow spectators ontrack this weekend in the wake of the international coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the track announced Thursday night. The policy will be in place for at least Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The races, which include three stakes Saturday, will go on as scheduled.
I was originally going to go with Basin, but that was when gold street and eight rings were still in the race.
Now, I just don't know. I will have to take a look at my mud sires at OP again but most of these "fit" so that probably won't help me.
Of note both Saez and Castellano have won this race before. Baffert hasn't been doing that well at OP ... hasn't won the Rebel in about 4 years? but Nadal sure has posted some smokin' fast works.
I might construct 2 kinda weird cheap tickets. One will have Nadal on top for sure.
Quite frankly, I am pretty sure Nadal has enough stamina to run in every TC race. So not sure I will go against him here........and in other Rebels recently I HAVE gone against the Baffert entry. Either Baffert thinks he has something that he doesn't have, OR, Nadal is the *real deal*.
OK, no spectators for the racing but the casino remains open...?
