Unfortunately,I have been starting too many of these threads.I think this guy could have been decent on turf

In North America we work dirt and turf horses on dirt, most of the time. Would we be better served to work them more often on grass whether they are dirt or turf runners? Just curious.

There have been some problems with European horses going to Australia for the Melbourne Cup as the turf course is a lot firmer than what they are used to.Dermot Weld suggested doing full body scans on the horses before shipping them in order to reveal any pre existing weaknesses.I think it wouldn’t hurt to introduce this for all horses.It would definitely reduce fatalities
