Jockey is not going to get a tip for serving up a tiring colt Soup + Sanwich in the Florida Derby.
Not on my menu for win. Derby too long to stay fresh, tasty and appealing at KDy distance.
Colt runs early to be in race.
Hold the Mayo.
I think my post got eaten, S&S doesn't change leads and loses ground. Not a good combo to run extra distance that is derby. I will have to watch him at CDX to see how he is coming along.
So here;s what Caddo River's owner had to say:
Pass the derby, he isn't ready, gets rank and nervous close to horses and eye ball to eye ball.
Creative Cause was like that, still racing before he was ready. Afraid of Alphas and cowered
and still finished in the money sometimes half heartly running.
Caddo has talent save him for the Met Mile.
Yes yes the humans have egos and wallet thoughts and visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. Pre and Derby Day.
All. Today if had to bet 15 days out
A .Essential Q Win
B. Keys 2nd under:
Hot Rod C.

Sainthood? What do you see there out of curiosity?
Sainthood was at top of my 9 horse derby list I posted the other day though they weren't in order. I only really like 9 horses right now.
What DON'T you see there, so play the devils advocate from the other side if you will. I'd be interested to know why you don't like him.
I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why they like Midnight Bourbon.....I really want/need to know. :) Is Mike riding? What's the deal?
Go to my comments and even a video of Saint in Ruby stakes. Post # 70
Sainthood can get out front early, then rate (let others pass) weave and bob through 19 other runners. Run late.
Moves from tapeta surface in last to my old Kentucky loam May 1.
I knew his final F was very good watching that race. He's never run out of the money either.
And his dosage profile says stamina-laden. Not sure I would use him if it rains though
My early list of 9 was based on a fast dry track. He won on Tapeta but he's won a route on dirt, too.
That is one of the reasons I like him.
