That brought back happy memories.I was at Fairyhouse a few times when I was a kid.I think the last time was 1980.

I forgot to mention in my original post how much I enjoyed the race call, too.  As far as I could tell, never made a verbal error & ramped up the drama beautifully as the race drew to a close.

I could not find out the fellow's name, though.

When I was in college,I had a friend who worked at the dog track so I spent a few nights there as well lol

Thank you for that info, Ger.  

I just did a quick study of Mr. Hannon's work & he is a world class race caller.  Also, comes across in interviews as a first rate fellow, as well.

His Call on Roaring Bull’s race was memorable

I just watched that race replay.  I don't know how Jerry Hannon still has a voice left after that one!  He sounded done in as Roaring Bull crossed the wire.

It's amazing how well he keeps things straight in such chaos during the main body of the race.
