Btw, I ran across a newly turned three year old, named Joey Freshwater, recently claimed by Linda Rice for $50k, a bit more than he was purchased for. His numbers are trending upwards, but I don't know how far he'll want to go. He's by Jimmy Creed, out of a More Than Ready mare. We may see him head to the Gotham, after competing in a claiming race a couple races back. My concern is that both of his wins, out of three starts, have been over muddy tracks.

On Lasix, The formula is L on non points races and non L on points races.

It made a Runner Out of Cyberknife last year. Pletcher and Cox formula

looks like the flavor of the 2023 year.

I'll look for Non L  users contenders and it will be tough this year

I cringe everytime I see a young horse on Lasix whether I like them or not,

Mr Fisk the 12f elite Pedigree for turf, Baffert is  giving him 3 f works on dirt
putting speed into him or teaching him to break out of the gate and hoping he will take to dirt.
anybody think this is a good plan or will it ruin him. Raced with Lasix in last start.
What do you Think  ?

There's nothing wrong, per se, with keeping one's options open with a young horse and trying a few different things to learn what you have.

The difference with Beta Bob is that he wants a certain kind of performer and in the process misdirects a lot of talented animals to achieve his ends, not what the horse might normally excel at.

Baffert will lose interest.  At that point, it would be best for the horse to go to another trainer who is not as monomaniacal as Beta.

Thanks Steve, I wanted thoughts or feedback on trainer intent, you are in line

with my thoughts, He is savvy and I can see any trainer trying to get a deep closer

to be closer mid pack or even closer at the break, you did nail it with your certain kind of performer and misdirection, and thats the rub, Do you think he is trying to change with this one.

also Fort Warren is one of his top horses and he did a real slow work and that is a

red flag to me like not close to 100% for the horse,  A say what moment to me.. 2 different Patterns for Beta.

I also noticed the slow work for Fort Warren....huge red flag coming from BB.  But jury is still out on Mr. Fisk, I think he may be a good one, and Beta is simply seeing if he can train him for the Derby preps
