I don't know, Keeping the field to 10 entrants, they might be trying to fill with
firsters first , and of course the turf races have MTO.
Darn good Question !

Educate me. How does the process work, relative to who gets to be in the main field, and who ends up as "also eligibles"? Is it first come, first serve?
9/4/21
Its suppose to be the way it's written up by the Track Secretary following
guidelines he can make with his legal power. With 2's I noticed some are written
to fill with those Racing In $45,000 or less first as an example.
heres one race 7 Saratoga:
Purse $100,000. (up To $17,400 Nysbfoa) For Maidens, Two Years Old. Weight, 119 Lbs. (Non-Starters For A Claiming Price Of $40,000 Or Less In The Last 3 Starts Preferred). Seven Furlongs.

Beware many Major league trainers have 2 yr old's racing at Kentucky Downs
Tomorrow and Monday on Labor day turf races 9/5 and 9/6.
tomorrow race 4, MSW 8f turf open
Favorite # 6 Pammys Ready 7-2, the only filly entered, Wesley Ward trained
The only trainer that I'm aware of races the girls against the Boys like they do in Europe
we need to see more of this imo. Oh MTR sire.
Races 2-4-6-8 are 2's racing Sunday, races 2-9-11 on Monday including race 11
Kentucky Downs Juvenile Mile Stks field of 11
Race 9 Juvenile Fillies Race 8f turf 10 entered, both races $500,000

Thanks for the info. Btw, did you see the debut of a three year old gelding named Artie at Woodbine today? In race 2, he blew away a field, running to his spectacular works. Artie is by Artie Schiller, out of an MTR mare. He ran 6.5f on the turf in 1:13 2/5, winning by 9.

Gritty performance by Joker Boy! How do you like his pedigree for going longer?
9/4/21
Corniche looked like a monster.....Baffert has a good one here. Will most likely go in the American Pharoah as favored, then to BC juvy

I missed watching the races yesterday,
There is a lot to like in his pedigree. Dixieland Band as a BMS Mated to
another Nor Dan is positive imo. 16 placements of his TFF 4m within 5 generations
I like a lot, Bred to run on anything , time will tell if he's a 10f gr1 type.
