Both NYRA and CDI aren't done with Beta Bob: NYRA for "conduct detrimental to the sport" and "potentially injurious" to horses and riders. This is NYRA's 2nd attempt to punish Baffert.
CDI states: no points for horses trained by suspended trainer, either indirectly or directly employed. That's aimed directly at Beta Bob. If owners have Derby dreams with Derby type horses they cannot use Baffert.
Beta Bob is not going to go down without a fight, of course. He's the barnacle on the bottom of racing's boat.
Story here in the NY Times:

So does that mean he cannot train at all or can the owners have him train one then move to another trainer later down the TC trail just prior to the point races. I am assuming any points by a BB horse will not be awarded or not count. Will a W just waste the top points or the points shift down to the 2-4 horses. Not questions directed to you per se, just questions I had in general.
In other happenings, if you have never been to Kentucky Downs, it is too late, you missed it. They have went corporate and big money, restricting all access to anywhere near the paddock and finish line, making those all VIP areas. Was there this last weekend and it was no where near the same it used to be.

Hey Pistol, always nice to hear from you.
The way I read the following is that Beta is out of luck when it comes to at least the '22 Derby.
“Points will not be awarded to any horse trained by any individual who is suspended from racing in the 2022 Kentucky Derby or any trainer directly or indirectly employed, supervised or advised by a suspended trainer,” the racetrack said in a statement.
I've been to every TB track in KY and even spent some time at the Red Mile watching horses pulling bikes, but I missed Kentucky Downs. Thanks for the tip, my friend, because I was actually thinking about driving down next year just fill in a gap in my track resume. Now I know to stay away.

This is huge, Steve......he has a few very promising 2 year olds, can't imagine why owners wouldn't move them immediately, unless training by an assistant is a loophole?
9/14/21
The wording of CDI's statement does not leave a loophole. The only reason I can think of why owners are keeping Derby prospects with Beta is because he's advising them to. Maybe he thinks his attorneys will help him wriggle out and get to play in the prep season and in KD '22.
Advising them to find another trainer is tacit admission that the suspension is valid.

So, Steve, how did Montebello race at SAR a couple of weeks ago, a trainee of Beta Bob?
9/14/21
Prince, nowhere does it say Baffert cannot train and race horses. The CDI ruling is for points races and the KD itself.
Baffert is allowed to race now at NYRA pending the new action that NYRA initiated recently - see post 1 in this thread.
Are you toying with me man? Was that a "gotcha" ? Haha

It looks like SF Racing conglomerate own a few, including Pinehurst, Rockefeller, and Montebello......and Baomi own Kamui and Enbarr...with Speedway owning Corniche. These are all fine colts, a complete mystery how they continue to keep them in BB's stable

He was and then he was reinstated by judge and now NYRA is trying again. It can get blurry, I agree.
