Just to put a cherry on top of the Beta Bob saga. His final appeal to stay his suspension was denied and it will begin on 4/4/22.

Good. I also notice how the court took their time and made their ruling at the last minute... so the lawyers wouldn't have time to appeal to a higher court (not that this would ever make it to the Supreme...)
The best sentence (from the BH article) is this one:
the granting of stays for suspended trainers is not automatic as a matter of law despite the practice having been followed on multiple occasions.
So this judge admits this has been going on too long that trainers assume the courts will save them... but not anymore. That practice is over.
Do the crime do the time... as it should be. If Richard Dutrow can be handed down a 10 year suspension AND IS SERVING IT, surely Baffert can sit out a measly 3 months. (Dutrow's 10 years end next year, curious to see if he makes a comeback)

Very interesting bit about the lawyer hired to fight Baffert.....sounds very effective

It would be nice if overall accountability improved due to the Baffert decisions.
His lawyer, Brewster, is an incompetent, IMO. Still singing the blues.
As far as Dutrow goes, I would expect that as long as he is not literally physically unable, he will make a comeback.

Well, no filly or BB horse needed to be added from this weeks races. I guess I can see why they delayed, those two probably would have been on, and then backed out after results of those who actually bet before the race. Good to see another BB not there, just have to see what happens next week. Small fields in CA may help him to make it with a place.

Of course Beta Bob gets a free ride here.If the horse wins, he gets the credit as Yakteen has never won a graded stakes race;if he loses,it’s Yakteen’s fault.

Fascinating read, Tex, thanks!
According to Baffert's lawyer, this is a personal vendetta, launched by envious horse owners. I think Baffert needs new counsel, one who will recommend at least a modicum of contrition, and who will take a different approach altogether.

One didn't need a crystal ball at this juncture to be able to predict that NYRA would dig in. Thanks for the link, Tex.
