Medina Spirit DQ'd from Kentucky Derby win.  Beta Bob suspended 90 days and fined 7500.00.

Story here:

Beta Bob should be thankful it's not a year suspension and 75,000.00  given the magnitude of the race and the damage he caused.  Waiting for the moaning and whining to start...

Beta needs new lawyers.  After last weeks hearing they were strutting around saying how good it went.

Remind you of anybody?  "I have the best lawyers," boasted the chump.

That article highlighted the year of many med infractions ,that's a fact and must be considered

and it makes sense to be considered in there ruling. Remember the European Vet. expert even that ointment

can mask pain in that joint or wherever its used, It doesn't have to be in the urine or blood samples,

Many ways to mask performance besides sophistication 21st century Scientists felons.

This is only the beginning. His team of lawyers will tie this up in the courts for 4 years like Dancer's Image.   The fine and suspension are slaps on the wrist, he can just transfer his barn over to Jimmy for 90 days (for races not at CD owned tracks).  His banishment from CD and from Derby points still stands (even with horses running under Jimmy).

Yes, the Euro vet  was excellent.  The milk shake, for example, is not hi-tech, to say the least, and it worked for decades and would still work today.  I'm sure the lower level tracks still shake horses.

Hey, even the top jocks have experience with the machines, buzzers, whatever you want to call them.

I agree.  By no means the end of this.  What a black eye for racing, though.

What's still remarkable to me.....is that Baffert is still the trainer of record for Newgrange, and he's running in the Rebel at OP this Sat.....this colt is basically giving up the chance to run in the Derby if barns aren't changed in the next several days

I have no idea, prince.   I don't actually care, either.
