Nothing that obvious.

Easily could have resulted in a dead or paralyzed fellow rider.  Intentional.

it did look like 2 objects wanted to be in the same spot at once, I couldn't slow it down but trust the stewards.

Hand slap?    the jockey will STILL be able to ride Vadeni  in Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) as the suspension starts Oct. 14 and ends Dec. 12.

Vadeni.  I know.  Soumillon is getting off easy, IMO.

Bloodhorse article said that Joffre Mora was reportedly banned for life after pushing a fellow rider off his horse in the Ecuador Derby.

Guess they are honest in Equador.  Somewhere around 1:35, hard to tell other horse is in way then you see riderless horse-------midfield, with yellow shadow roll

Wish they had a head on shot on this one but sure didn't look like the Soumillon shot.  Wish all the trainers would just stop using him.

Off the top of my head I recall when Corey Nakatani got 30 days for shoving another jockey off the horse during the runout at Del Mar in 1997.  That one was blatant - his arm could be seen pushing the guy off.

Man, good memory, Tex.  I just looked it up.  30 days seems awfully lenient but then again it's US racing and US rules.

I suppose the fact that the push occurred 100 past the wire and they were slow might have mitigated the punishment.

I thought Soumillon should have gotten 12 months because of the sheer danger and recklessness of a full speed shove.  I get the other rider was bearing in but still...

And Soumillon wasnt a hand push, looked like he got a shoulder into it as well to me. Thank goodness the field was small.

And now this. Wow.  He's lucky the stewards didn't suspend him 30 days or longer and cause him to miss the BC.

Sonny claimed his saddle slipped.  My BS meter is vibrating.

Then, there's this.  Soumillon gets hit hard in the pocketbook by the Aga Khan, losing his lucrative contract to ride in France for that outfit.  It looks like they will use him further afield in races, though.  Sacked in France.
