After taking a beating most of the weekend, turned a profit thanks to pairing up Modern Games with Shirl's Speight and Malathaat with Blue Stripe. Hope Epicenter's surgery goes well.

I was - and have been all year - way wrong about Simplification.
Europe “owned us” in the Turf events.
congrats to the classic fav: well done.

Bill Mott had a great Breeder's Cup Saturday. Two breeder's cup wins, 2nd in the Classic and 3rd in the Turf. He also trained the winner of the $350K stakes race, in the last race on Saturday.
Curlin, had three breeder's cup winners on Saturday, including 3 of the top 4 finishers in the Distaff.
Steve Asmussen had a terrible breeder's cup.

Did you see the Baffert firster, Arabian Knight(Uncle Mo), in race 1? Pretty impressive. He was on everyone's radar for a while, and ran to the hype. Lost in the race was a Pletcher firster, Expect More(City of Light), who walked out of the gate, and spotted the field 8 lengths. He finished third, making an impressive run of his own to get into the money.

Pletcher horse (Expect More) walked out of the gate and made up a lot ground on the rest of the field except for Arabian Knight. The rest of the came back to Expect More but Arabian Knight won by 10 lengths.

My wife had the only winner on the day or should i say "semi" winner a WPS on Olympiad. Managed a $20 place/show payoff. I'm down around $100 for the w/e.
I actually resorted to play exacta boxes for 7 of the 9 on Saturday. Got close on the R10 Turf. Needed Red Knight to hit the super to win, 3 out of 4....close but no cigar!

Thanks to Elite Power for keeping me in the game. I handicapped the two Asmussen horses to run behind Goodnight Olive but I just screwed up.
Handicapping the Classic was about finding the likely horse that would run second. Olympiad had won five straight quality races before a bad performance in the Whitney but came back and won the Jockey Gold Cup Stakes at the distance. He was definitely the logical choice to finish behind Flightline.

Actually Arabian Knight won by 7. But Expect More closed more than the final margin indicates. When you have to run so hard early to get back in the race, it's going to take a greater toll, than if he broke with the field and had been able to rate and relax. He predictably got tired late, and had no closing kick. The race would have probably unfolded very different. I'm not saying he wins, or even defeats the runner up. I'm just saying he would have run a better race, and he is one to watch, probably at a short price next out.

I think he was a firster, he moved up to 4th and was spent and 6 lengths behind the leader, 3rd place backed up
and he finished 3rd with no gas and the leader padded his lead over him relaxed with his game plan.
I would put him on a watch list, see how this effected him in this trial and tribulation.
Here is his up close linebreeding with 2 or more lines of each horse listed to support the singles within 5 generations.
Big positive with Something Royal mare with 7 crosses 5x5 influence , Agr 8.89 %
with those 4 elite Sires and her Son Secretariat one of them and all above 10 per cent AGR. worth the watch IMO
EXPECT MORE C, 2020 DP = 1-5-4-0-0 (10) DI = 4.00 CD = 0.70
