Place holder, will post field and jockeys /trainers when I am sure field is set.

Top European Road to Derby (Cairo) + Top Japan Road to the Derby (Perriere).
20 points  and 36 points respectively.

Derma Sotogate has only 20 points and needs to beat Perriere. Goraiko has 3 pts.

Shirl's Bee looks interesting, talented with very little racing though, green.  Goraiko, as well for me.

I was hoping Greenland (IRE) would come for this.  Looks like very few Euros are interested in our TC races

Don't expect these to come over (some are over 3 years old anyway):
Go Soldier go, not TC Nominated
Mr. Raj  not nominated
Laresh not nominated
Es-Unico(BRZ) not nominated (but has Moreira aboard)

Gee, so much analysis on this race here.......not.

Anyway, my pick w/p/s is

Dura Erede

Shines on turf, but I think he will be okay on dirt, too.  Probably only prep race I will play.  Demuro rides.

2nd choice would be

Derma Sotogake.  Lemaire rides.

Like I said to Rob - Box the Japanese in an exacta.  They are guaranteed overlays with the money sloshing over to Baffert, ONeill and the locals.

It's a bet that requires no handicapping.  :-D

As long as the Japanese money doesn’t get into the American pools

Oh that would kill it.  I don't think the Japanese money is commingled for Dubai WC Day.

I can't do it that way.   Wont' work for me, based on how I picked each of those horses. For the horses I gave above, for me it's "one or the other" to win.  I didn't pick them because they were Japanese horses, it's just that there was a preponderance of Japanese horses entered in this race (5 out of 13entries)  and I chose the 2 horses I felt were the best out of the whole field.

I will use each of my picks as keys, on separate tickets, with other horses underneath.  I liked some of Pedigreestar's picks for my "unders" perhaps........there are some others I like who are not Japanese entries like Obrien's horse.

I apologize, WT.  I didn't think you would take me seriously and waste those keystrokes responding.

That's why I put the :-D [grin] in there and said, no handicapping required.

Well considering that the pools in this race, as well as many of the KY Derby prep races, are filled with money from bettors who do no handicapping at all,  in practice, it wouldn't be THAT poor of a wager, in the scheme of things, whether it was a serious comment or not.  :)

I told you about that weird experience I had with a "weekend bettor" at Oaklawn.  He ASKED me for my thoughts, and I literally gave him the exacta for R8, and the longshot winner for R9 (and they came in like that because I really did cap the races earnestly, though I didn't get the whole card correct, I'm not that good).......Yet, he insisted on using the "pick sheet" that he bought.  Despite asking me for my thoughts.

Later, when he realized he lost both races, he said to me:   "I guess I'm just not lucky".  (that's what he took away from his experience).

People like him think the talking heads or worse, the people who sell those dumb pick sheets have some kind of edge, and they don't.......but they do cause the odds on some of the "already chalk horses" to become even chalkier.
