Wow... at least the HKJC issues real punishments... unlike NYRA with Pletcher...
Definitely a poor lack of judgement there, De Sousa was a 3 time champion in England? Hopefully sitting 10 months he'll have learned. I mean, Dettori got suspended for drug use and came back just fine. Some take the punishment and learn from it, others just keep using the legal system to escape punishment and carry on.

When you find jocks betting there you will often find horses getting stiffed. Like you said, though, the punishments for such stuff needs to be harsh enough to discourage more crime in the future.

Good morning Tex..
How can a punter play the races in that part of the world?. The wager menu on the US sites seems pretty basic, for lack of a better word, or is that all that is offered.
Thank you for all your input.

I'm sure Steve or Winter will chime in as they play HK racing. North American bets on their races do go into their pools.
When you say "wager menu" do you mean the types of bets or the types of races?
If you mean types of bets this might help:

Triple Trio seems to be a cool idea. In our parlance that's like a Pick 3 but in the 3 races you need to hit a Trifecta Box, not just the winner.

Appreciate that.
Found some info on a world pool...that sounds very appealing.

Was watching the races from Happy Valley.
Nice pools for that Triple Trio..$10 base bet?
Not offered on US sites..that I know of.
May-24
The base bet is 10 Hong Kong dollars which is $1.28 US, so the payout charts on HKJC.com are for $10 bets (why they look so big). If you go on TVG.com they convert the payouts to U.S. style payouts ($2 WPS, $1 exotics).
World Pool refers to certain international races (Dubai, Royal Ascot, etc) where Hong Kong hosts the international pool rather than the host track itself. Which means HK residents can bet on them; HK is different in that locals *must* bet through the HKJC; using offshore bookies, rebate shops etc is illegal. So, for example, they can't bet on U.S. races unless it's a "world pool" event (Breeders' Cup for example).

Last question(s)..
How can I bet into the Triple Trio and the World Pool days?
Is it possible?
May-24
Plus, I bet Hong Kong through NYRA Bets and I have never seen the Triple Trio offered. The World Pool is for Hong Kong bettors and HK bettors must bet through the HKJC. NYRA Bets has Win/Ex/Qu. There may be more but I'm a win bettor, sometimes exactas so I never searched.
So, the upcoming fixtures on the HK World Pool is so that the Hong Kong punters can bet the UK fixtures including of course Ascot.
