Bloodhorse covered the recent meeting. The handle at Timonium a few miles from Pimlico improved. The rest of the handle from Laurel had the same loss as other tracks in the USA. One thing I’d like to point out about Baltimore. For the last 150 years every sports league has been trying to shove Washington DC down Baltimore’s throat. The breeding farms and the heart of horse racing in MD is north of Baltimore. DC is south. Horse Racing in MD will succeed when Baltimore becomes the focus instead of a track like Laurel between both cities. Importantly Laurel is much further south from the breeding farms. The development of Pimlico is the winning decision to rebuild the tracks.

My eyes rolled as I read all that. 

My opinion remains the same:  Wake me up when the wrecking ball starts knocking down Pimlico for the rebuild. Until that happens I'll continue to call BS to anything they say especially everybody quoted in the BH article.  I'll believe it when I see it.

Racing had a recent rash of TC winners. Was about a 25 year gap before this heralded event became yearly expectation.

The past few years have shown the Segundo leg as a who cares? Save the track's financials.

The respective state authorized racing dates/calendars is what is. Positioned as the best dates to run. 

Macy's never cared about Bambergers. Or Starbucks doesn't care how Dunkin Donuts will do based on their product leadership.

The general public, once a year Derby bettor, add parties and festivities doesn't care about the 2nd leg as a betting prop.

This year's TC line up,and last year's as well, is likely the rash of the probability of  a drought for TC  accomplishments.

Not to be confused with the recent1 Derby Winner DQ'd as a result of a rash.

The TCs come in spirts as the record Shows.... then I posted as the "dates! for review of Gaps in succession winners.

I imagine the over/under for the next Triple Crown Winner is

15.5 years.

And TC winner potentially attributed to dwindling crop sizes and happens to be just the best of the also TC nominated.

Further, say, the rich and publically know figures will decline in ring sale purchases.

They dont want their name used in combination with drugs, cheating the public, and especially animal abuse. 

And  racing is unlike pro sports where most penalties are within the games final outcome.  Everybody gets paid.

As the rules tighten, As They Should, the owner/investor has increasing chances of not getting paid due to infractions in and after the race.
