$230K (yearling price!) FTS by Shackleford runs in GS maiden today, ML 10-1, goes off at 16-1 and places, paying $35
Had really nice works, too.
I have been playing place at Oaklawn and Australia and every time it pays twice or more what the winners pay. Seems like place/show wagers are unappreciated when it comes to making $$. Look at Brisnet and Aussie and OP results each week.
I watched and played the race.....hit the exacta, so I did OK. Thought Bobby looked quite good, but the winner was a monster. Hope Chad considers a dirt race for him next.
Speaking of monsters, did you see race 1 at GP? Procter's Ledge, a filly by Ghostzapper, out of an Arch mare, was well back early, and simply galloped by the entire field to win by about 4 in 1:41 1/5 over 8.5f on the turf. I wonder if Walsh will try her on the dirt.
McPeek's Blueridge Traveler. Ran last and 2nd to last entire race...... Vandelay (who I bet on) pretty much HAD the race at 100 yards nad quite a large lead from the rest of field...........Blueridge Traveler ran him down in the last 100 yards... really quite impressive maiden breaking. Replay OP Race 10 on 2/20. 1-1/16th mile.

He's not even going to the Rebel so I'm not sure what Unconteseted's future is
Of note, Guest Suite also won on muddy track in LA, Untrapped ran 2nd.
Uncontested is fast, no doubt about that
i don't even have him in my top 20, or classic empire with the red flag minor foot injury
that is a strong toss this time of year..
have you seen Gormleys works, i have never seen Shirreffs work his horses this fast before
he must be special for him to do that.
I am surprised that Pletcher is going to try Made You Look on the dirt. He has an abundance of Derby prospects, so I thought he would be satisfied to keep this one on the turf. Must be Derby Fever on behalf of Let's Go Stables. They got a taste of it before with Verrazano.
