This son of Kantharos, out of a Valid Expectations mare, was a 10K buy back as a yearling. He debuted August 10th in a 25K claiming race at Gulfstream, which he won by 14 lengths. His new owners ran him next in the Affirmed Stakes, and after lugging in and brushing the rail in the stretch, he lost by a half length to a nice horse named Soutache. The contest was completed in a crisp 1:22 2/5. I am sure his previous owners are kicking themselves for entering this horse in a claimer, as are all the people that passed on him for a measly 10k at his yearling sale. It will be interesting to see how long Kathleen O'Connell gets to train him, and how much this horse will accomplish in his career.

Thanks. Too bad Kathleen O'Connor didn't get to keep him. This guy can run!

Too bad I can't rely on races from that track..wonder what Tampa shippers do.  Nothing stands out of the bat.

So the "impressive" 7L Tampa Stks winner drops anchor at qtr pole in the Swale,  fades to a photo for 4th....hmmm
