So I'm watching Eclipse Award winner Classic Empire's babies this year. Figured I'd pick a few sires to follow. He did his best racing in KY, so why not.... those soft eyes really get to me. Not a derby list per se, just want something to root for.....not sure if CA has stamina problems but have to look at all the dams.
Filly race today R4 Arlington, Harty's Wonderstruck was the favorite (BMS is Shamardal, 2004 Cartier Champion 2-year old in Europe). I liked Sport Pepper (Classic Empire) (BMS First Samarai won G1 Champagne and Hopeful). Sport Pepper won. Dam is Le Mi Geaux, inbred to Mr P's son, Fappiano (like Justin Phillip) but Rick Dutrow didn't do her justice. I've had very good luck with the Samarai's but they seem to do better as they age.
So following:
--Classic Moment (unraced; dam side victory party/leslies lady/tricky creek.....wonder what they will do w/this one)
--Beautiful Empire (unraced F; Oxley owner of Monarchos has good eye for horseflesh) putting in works; Colonel John)
--Fragrant - Unraced; Graham Motion is training her at FH; gorgeous name for a gorgeous horse
--Classic Legend - unraced, Casse working at WO. Long legs (BMS is Cherokee Run but this one does not look like a sprinter to me).
--First Empire 3-2-0-0
--Old Town Road 2-2-0-0 (Ward; looks very powerful! (won maiden at same track as Classic Empire did).
--Classical Romance 3-0-1-1
--Interstatedaydream 2-1-1-0
--Twenty Four Mamba 5-1-1-0
--Otomon Empire 3-1-0-0
--Ava K's Boy 2-1-0-1
--Classy Edition 1-1-0-0 (filly loves slop)(Pletcher trains, Lows owned. Expensive)
--Mariah's Fortune 3-0-1-2
--Queen's Up 2-1-1-0
--Azamana Empire
--Sport Pepper
--Mr Mac Quhae
--Classic Lynne
--Fishers - no idea what happened to this one that Chad Brown raced 1x

Hidden Connection looked good winning the Pocahontas, but for the life of me, I could not understand the jock continuing to whip mid-stretch with such a large lead....
