I switched to a straight bet vs exotics with such a short field in Haskell. Even without a backup ticket in Tri ..race ran short Tri $.
Yes, I do favor Spa meet. But...if I look at a card / DRF and it looks unhadicapable " I pass that day.
I usually pass up on races on a card. The unhandicapable" ones. Like under 6 fl on grass.
May go live to the Spa this year. Looking forward to it.
Stopped playing OTB on Sundays for a couple of yrs now, as I play jazz drums (and go to church after) If I like something can bet smile on ADW
Best regards,

Jim Dandy @ Spa such a small field doesn't warrant it's own thread with a six horse field @ 9 panels.
But Laoban in 2016 won this one as a maiden runner 2 yrs ago, and made head~shakers of horizontal tick players to this day.
Wired the field in a 6 horse event and retired thereafter with 1 win only in nine attempts.
Stay out of the DogHouse, enjoy the trip..life's and racing's. (d)

I am not exactly blown away by the three year olds that chased Justify throughout the TC. I always look for the late developers to make some noise over the latter half of the year. I was pretty impressed by the way Mr. Freeze ran away from the field in the stretch at Mountaineer today. I think Romans has a runner on his hands. In his only loss, a narrow one at that in the Iowa Derby, he was wide the whole race. He avenged that defeat by blowing the doors of High North in the West Virginia Derby. The To Honor And Serve colt, out of a Tabasco Cat mare completed the 9f in a respectable 1:47.95.

That WEST VA race does deserve respect. Weights were/are on light side.
I mentioned above grass @ Spa has wetski syndrome and dirt does fluctuate there with unreasonable rain fall.
The fav in WV had Baffert aura spin on it. That Bob colt ran on tight turn track in last and just got up.
Forwardly consider track surface from/to and weight! Wait! Weight.
