Thanks for the link. I watched both his races. In his debut he raced near the lead. In the Hyacinth, he had a poor break and was last. He easily circled the field and had lots left at the finish. With More Than Ready on the dam side, I will keep a close eye on this one. Cafe Pharoah seems genuinely talented.

I have him penciled in for the top spot in the Preakness!
His Trainer said today the horse will tell him if he is Ready to run in the Derby
after one good race , if not preakness is the target. He reported that the surgery
hasn't bothered the Horse so far.

Hey Rae + Smarty thanks..and good news @ 4 FL as they opened him up. His previous 2 at 3 FL and 4 FL were slow and unpretentious. Trouble is he's already on the Winter Book low odds, up Derby points, pundits' picks. And if he gobbles up the/a field in his Seattle Slew style..oh..oh

I can't see him getting more than one prep before the Derby. I don't like that for a young horse coming off an injury.

"Nov. 18 removed a mildly displaced chip from an ankle, according to owner Godolphin." Three days before his Brd Cup. Then estimated 60 days R&R. On target.
Honestly, I'm hoping he gets a second place 50 pointer Derby points and was closing a ton and at longer, Derby Distance is based on the trip. Today he remains the Delta horse. Can't fall in love with the Delta because then one can't get off in the couple of weeks before Rose recital.

Chip remove 18th Nov. Scratched 3 days before his (Maxfield) Brd Cup race. R&R following surgery estimated 60 days. On target. As the Delta colt today, the one who is used to compare all Derby point comers; up and down and sideways, let's hope he is at least five deep..if he makes it to the Rose recital.
