Back to the Cross
???????????????????????????????????by Chip Brogden
Religion seeks to reform a man;
the Cross seeks to crucify him.

Religion may fail to bring about the desired result, but the Cross never fails to achieve its end. Mankind will pursue morality, virtue, spirituality, even perform religious works and good deeds, in order to avoid death on a Cross. But there are no wounds, no scars, no evidence of having ever died and been made alive unto God. Either a man has never died, or he has died and been raised again. You cannot fake a resurrection.

The Cross is the means by which God reduces us to Christ, that we may be raised to new Life. What cannot be accomplished in a lifetime of self-effort is easily accomplished in God through the Cross. We may take many shortcuts along the way and attempt to escape the inevitable, but the day we cease striving and meekly accept the Cross we find everything is done for us...

Hey Elaine,

I sometimes call it "The Wheat and the Weeds" but you may know this parable as "The Wheat and the Tares."

It's the second parable in our study of ALL THE PARABLES OF JESUS.

The interesting thing about this parable is how often it is misinterpreted.

But if we consider it in the context of ALL the parables of Jesus, the message becomes clear - and it explains so much of what we see happening around us today.

Head of All Principality and Power
???????????????????????????????????by Chip Brogden
Some will ask, if Jesus is indeed
head of all principality and power,
how is it that the devil and his demons
are still able to do so much?

Jesus is Lord of All, but we do not yet see all things submitted to Him. Jesus is Savior of All, but we do not yet see all people believing in him. Similarly, Jesus is Head of All Principality and Power, and yet “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12).

What is the explanation? The short answer is...

Hey Elaine,

When I started this teaching series on the parables I mentioned the possibility that the seven parables in Matthew 13 coincide with seven distinct periods of "church" history (both the religious system and the Ekklesia).

Meaning, the parables are truly "prophetic" in the sense that Jesus is telling us what to expect in advance.

So far we've covered the first two parables.

This week we'll cover FOUR in a single message.

They are simple stories but they carry big ideas.

And we'll also test this theory of the parables predicting the future of the Ekklesia.

I think it will be enlightening!

I hope you can join us for...

We're going to discuss things that don't get talked about in Sunday School and don't get preached about in church.

Yet, Jesus talked about it, so that makes it important.

At the risk of sounding dramatic, I think you will be shocked and amazed.

The Priests of the Lord
By Chip Brogden
Ministry to men is commonplace,
but ministry to the Lord is
on the verge of extinction.

Whereas typical ministry is directed TO man and FOR man, the ministry of which I am speaking is directed TO the Lord and FOR the Lord. There is a place for ministry to the saints, yet there are many instances and examples of ministry to the saints, and very few instances of ministry TO THE LORD ALONE. I understand that most people minister to men “for the Lord’s sake” and see it as one and the same; nevertheless, I am speaking of a kind of ministry that is WHOLLY for the Lord, and not for man at all...

Hi Elaine,

Can you believe March is here already?

I know you're busy and there are so many different directions we can be pulled in.

That's why it's important to put a stake in the ground and say, "No matter what, this year I'm going to dig more deeply into the Word of God."

Our weekly online Bible study is one way to stay grounded in what's important, and the parables are a great place to start.

The first seven parables are really the key to understanding all the parables of Jesus.

This week we're covering the seventh one:

THE PARABLE OF THE DRAGNET
Thursday, March 1, 2018
7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (New York)

Go here to register for this free online class:

We'll also talk about the "code" Jesus uses to link many different teachings together so you can interpret them correctly and apply them to your life.

It's also interesting to consider how the parables are being fulfilled in prophetic history - past, present and future.

Lots of dimensions to consider.

Exciting stuff!

Hope you can join us.
