Hurricane Florence could be a lot like Harvey. Here’s why.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2018/09/10/hurricane-florence-could-be-lot-like-harvey-heres-why/?utm_term=.b74367052cdc&wpisrc=nl_rainbow&wpmm=1

[pay wall]

In late August 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas on San Jose Island. Over the following five days, Harvey's forward movement slowed to a glacial pace, essentially stopping over the greater Houston area, weakening in terms of wind speed but retaining an immense amount of moisture that eventually fell as rain in catastrophic amounts.

A year later, residents in the southeast and Mid-Atlantic may face the exact same scenario with Hurricane Florence, and the reason will be eerily similar.

Since we have an administration that doens't believe in planning ahead and preaches that these hurricanes don't occur, what will happen when this storm they claim is mythical hits the country and people die because of the stupidity of fools and idiots like OleTrumpetboy and the assholes who believe in his shit?

Yes, the Unisys model has shown it stalling just off the Carolina coast for a couple of days and then drifting Southwest to eventually come ashore near Charleston.

This Sept. 12th Al Rokker weather forecast regarding FLORENCE is that this is THE STORM OF A LIFETIME!

Mr. Trump assures those in Florence's path that all is in readiness.  We shall see.

Wait'll we hear from the DENIERS who, even as speak, are getting their excuses ready.  This thing is projected to be the costliest natural disaster ever.

Hurricane Florence charges toward Carolinas with ‘potential for unbelievable damage’

Category 4 Hurricane Florence is less than 48 hours away from making landfall on the Southeast coast with catastrophic impacts, from damaging winds to flash flooding to widespread power outages.

I am sure the administration will have its alibis and excuses all lined up and ready to use, when they fail to do their job.

We had a drought this summer but we just got five inches of rain in four days which was most welcome. There were threats of higher electricity rates this winter.

Climate change is world wide, no matter what the deniers say.

Climate change is natural. Climate is always changing. It is related to the uneven distribution of land and water on the planet plus rotation.

Where I am sitting was under a thousand fet of ice ten thousand years ago.

Yes, it is natural, but the increase we have seen in the last half century has been completely man influenced.  The deniers are the ones who don't believe in any climate change as being possible.

I will remain skeptical. There have always been terrible hurricanes.

Galveston was the worst and it was over a century ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1900_Galveston_hurricane
